McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., LPA is pleased to announce the addition of José A. Nuñez to the firm. José has joined the firm’s transactional group as an Associate attorney. His practice focus spans the Banking & Finance, Business & Corporate, Litigation, Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate & Construction, and Trusts & Estates practice groups.
Before joining McCarthy Lebit, José built a diverse legal background by working in both litigation and transactional environments. He gained practical experience as a judicial extern to Judge Fleming in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, as a law clerk at two firms, and as a Certified Legal Intern with the Canton Prosecutor’s Office.
José received his bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania before continuing his education at the University of Akron School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor. During law school, he pursued a concurrent Master of Business Administration and Business Law Certificate from the University of Akron.
During his time at the University of Akron, José took on numerous leadership and academic positions. He served as President of the Black Law Student Association and the Asian & Hispanic Law Student Association, was Vice President and a competitor for the Moot Court Honor Society, and assisted first-year students as a teaching assistant for legal writing courses.
