Frank T. George Elected to Principal Attorney

McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., LPA is pleased to announce the election and promotion of Frank T. George to Principal of the firm, effective January 1, 2025. Frank began working at McCarthy Lebit in 2019 as an Associate attorney in the firm’s Employment group where he has helped clients facing unlawful discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

Frank continues to primarily practice in the area of employment law, however, his legal practice has expanded significantly. Today, in addition to assisting employees facing workplace mistreatment, contractual disputes, unlawful discrimination, harassment, and unfair pay practices, he handles unemployment benefit hearings and represents government employees in civil service proceedings. Drawing upon his litigation experience, he also advises the firm’s corporate clients and helps them comply with employment laws.

“Frank is an exceptional lawyer who cares deeply about our clients. He has a proven track record of success on their behalf. Frank embodies all the characteristics we at MLCL value most – intellect, work ethic, and passion. We are excited for the future and look for Frank to be a pillar of the success of the employment law practice and the firm for years to come,” shared Co-Managing Principal and Head of the Employment group, Ann-Marie Ahern.

When advising a client, Frank serves as an empathetic counselor. When litigating for a client, he is a passionate advocate. “I understand that employees place tremendous value in their work—that they often spend as much time in the workplace as their own homes. I understand that legal problems at work can cause significant stress and hardship,” said Frank George. As a newly elected Principal attorney, he plans to pass on this philosophy to new members of the team, emphasizing the firm’s policy of treating clients (and their concerns) with the respect and dignity they deserve.

“Frank is one of the sharpest thinkers, clearest communicators, and hardest workers I know. It is no surprise that Frank’s practice is flourishing, and we are fortunate to work with him,” said Principal Employment Law Attorney Jack Moran.

Since 2024, Frank has earned recognition on the annual Ohio Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list for “Employment Litigation: Plaintiff” and the Best Lawyers® Ones to Watch list in the area of “Labor and Employment Law – Employee.”

Frank is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Ohio Employment Lawyers Association, and the Cleveland Employment Lawyers Association. He is also an active participant in the Cleveland Employment Lawyers Inn of Court, where he previously served as the Programming Committee Chair and currently holds the role of Executive Board Treasurer.

He earned his J.D. from The University of Akron School of Law, following his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University. While in law school, he received the University of Akron School of Law’s prestigious Donald M. and Mary E. Jenkins Award for achieving the highest grade point average culminating in a J.D.

“I am incredibly grateful to have been elected as a Principal at McCarthy Lebit,” Frank George shared. “Throughout my life, I have been uncommonly blessed. I have been given opportunities that many are not provided, and my promotion is the product of many favorable circumstances—of my mentors’ guidance and support, of the firm’s collaborative environment, and of my family’s constant love and encouragement. I am thankful to be a Principal at McCarthy Lebit, and I am thankful for the opportunity to perform important, meaningful work on behalf of my clients.”
