Christian Patno President of the Ohio Association for Justice

McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., LPA is pleased to announce that Christian R. Patno, head of McCarthy Lebit’s Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, and Wrongful Death practice, was sworn in on May 4th, 2023 as President of the Ohio Association for Justice (OAJ) by Ohio Supreme Court Justice, Michael Donnelly. Chris will serve a one-year term, where he will aim to reduce the burdens and costs Ohioans face during shotgun lawsuits and when seeking to obtain copies of their own medical records from care providers, in addition to other advocacy and legislative matters.

The Ohio Association for Justice is the Ohio-based Chapter of the American Association for Justice, the largest plaintiff’s trial bar association in the United States. OAJ’s stated mission is to protect and promote Ohioans’ rights to a fair and impartial civil justice system, including their constitutional right to trial by jury, through advocacy, education, and training.

“We are extremely proud of Chris for taking Leadership’s call to serve in the OAJ,” said McCarthy Lebit’s Managing Principal, Rob Glickman. “The OAJ is a critical part of ensuring justice for all Ohioans and I’m sure the organization will continue to do great things for Ohio under Chris’s leadership.”

“Congratulations to Christian Patno! He is a brilliant and tenacious trial lawyer and will provide excellent leadership to the OAJ as President,” said Michael Goodman, President of NFP Structured Settlements.

“Chris has never shied away from taking any case to trial. His experience and leadership are both something the organization and OAJ members will benefit from greatly. Congratulations to Chris on his ascension to President. A position well earned,” said Jason Porter, Former CEO of the Ohio Association for Justice.

With over 30 years of distinguished, complex trial experience, Chris is nationally recognized for his work on catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and defamation matters. He is repeatedly included in the Ohio Super Lawyers® ultra-selective “Ohio Top 10” and “Cleveland Top 5 lists,” and was listed as the top 3 highest ranked attorney in Ohio in 2023. Chris has further been recognized by The American Trial Lawyers Association as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer, as a Fellow of The Litigation Counsel of America, and through his leadership and advocacy roles at both the national and state level.
