Overview
Bridget McCourt is an Associate attorney in the firm's Litigation group, where she assists individuals and businesses with a variety of civil matters. She supports the firm’s attorneys in guiding clients through the litigation process, including legal research, case preparation, discovery, motion practice, and other aspects of dispute resolution.
Bridget’s experience with McCarthy Lebit began well before she became an attorney. During her time with the firm, she held positions ranging from office clerk to administrative assistant and, while attending Cleveland State University College of Law, served as a law clerk. Working across these roles gave her the opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the firm’s attorneys, clients, and day-to-day legal operations while developing a broad understanding of the practice of law. She applies the perspective gained through her varied roles at the firm to her legal work, collaborating with her colleagues to address legal issues and advance client matters.
Her litigation practice encompasses the various stages of a civil dispute, from evaluating legal issues and conducting factual and legal research through discovery, motion practice, settlement discussions, and trial preparation. Bridget has experience assisting with contract, business, and commercial disputes, general civil litigation, and plaintiff-side insurance claims.
Across these matters, Bridget contributes to case strategy development, analyzes claims and defenses, prepares legal documents, and organizes information relevant to each matter. She approaches each dispute with careful legal analysis, strong written advocacy, and attention to the practical considerations that can influence the course and resolution of a case. Her work involves helping clients and colleagues evaluate legal issues, develop effective strategies, and navigate disputes toward resolution.
Bridget earned her bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and her Juris Doctor from Cleveland State University College of Law.
