Overview

Anthony Duckett is an Associate attorney in the firm’s Litigation group, where he represents clients across a broad range of civil and commercial matters. His practice spans multiple proceedings and subject areas, allowing him to bring a well-rounded perspective to each engagement.

Throughout his career, Anthony has developed a focus in securities litigation, representing clients in arbitration proceedings across multiple forums, including the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the National Futures Association (NFA). He has served as first and second chair in numerous hearings, with experience encompassing the examination of lay and expert witnesses, dispositive motion practice, and complex party and third-party discovery. Anthony has developed substantial experience handling complex financial litigation matters, representing clients across a wide range of disputes involving options trading, suitability, selling away, non-conventional investments, alternative investments, Ponzi schemes, and Regulation Best Interest (Reg BI).

Anthony has represented clients navigating the intricacies of these often highly technical matters, bringing a thorough understanding of the financial products and regulatory frameworks at issue to develop effective legal strategies on behalf of his clients. He maintains a strong working knowledge of federal and state securities laws and remains current on regulatory developments in the field.

As an active member of the Public Investors Advocate Bar Association (PIABA), Anthony has contributed meaningfully to the organization's mission of protecting the rights of public investors. He has appeared as a panelist and moderator on multiple panels addressing timely and complex issues, including Regulation Best Interest, legal ethics, and retainer agreements. Beyond his work on the podium, Anthony has taken on significant leadership responsibilities within the organization, acting as chair of the Diversity Committee and as a member of the Arbitration Committee.

Anthony received his B.S. in Business Management from Case Western Reserve University, with minors in Economics and Leadership. As an undergraduate, he captained the varsity basketball team for two years. He also represented his teammates in Spartan Sustained Dialogue, an organization that brings together student-athletes from diverse backgrounds to share experiences and build common ground.

He went on to receive his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he remained engaged both inside and outside the classroom. Anthony served as an assistant coach for the university’s basketball program and was a member of the Black Law Student Organization, a community dedicated to addressing issues that uniquely impact black law students and fostering a sense of belonging in a new and competitive environment. Additionally, Anthony participated in CWRU's Street Law program, through which law students visit the Cuyahoga County juvenile detention center to educate youth on relevant legal topics and empower them with the knowledge needed to avoid further involvement in the justice system. In addition to Anthony’s involvement with CWRU, he also worked as a law clerk at the Cuyahoga County Public Defender’s Office.
